This study is an online two-week mindfulness intervention study for parents of children with developmental disabilities. This study will help researchers better understand if a brief mindfulness program can help reduce stress in parents and caregivers and enhance overall well-being.
Who can participate in this study?
Adults (18 years or older) who are parents or primary caregivers of a child (up to age 21) with a developmental disability.
Who cannot participate in this study?
- Individuals who have participated in a structured mindfulness program within the past 12 months
- Diagnosis of a severe mental health condition within the past 12 months
- Individuals who do not have access to an internet-enabled device
Where does this study take place?
Virtually
What activities are involved in this study?
- A two-week online mindfulness intervention program (10-minute daily guided independent audio sessions and one-hour synchronous sessions with the research team via Zoom, first day of week 1 and week 2)
- Reflect on daily experiences through short online surveys.
- Pre- and post-intervention questionnaires and interviews, and a one-month follow-up survey
