Behaviors and Executive Skills in T21 (BEST21) Study

The goal of this study is to understand the development of challenging behaviors in children with Down syndrome. Caregivers will complete questionnaires about their child. Children will take part in an in-person EEG and problem-solving task visit.

Who can participate in this study?

6 to 14 year olds with Down syndrome anywhere in the states of Washington, West Virginia, DC and the greater metropolitan area, or the Pittsburgh, PA area

Who cannot participate in this study?

Individuals outside of the specified age range or outside of the states of Washington, West Virginia, DC and the greater metropolitan area, or the Pittsburgh, PA area

Where does this study take place?

The the states of Washington, West Virginia, DC and the greater metropolitan area, or the Pittsburgh, PA area

What activities are involved in this study?

Caregivers will complete questionnaires about their child. Children will take part in an in-person EEG and problem-solving task visit at the University of Washington, West Virginia University, their home, or a preferred community location.

What is the expected time commitment of this study?

Caregivers will complete questionnaires for about 1 hour and children will participate in an in-person visit for about 2-3 hours.
