In March 2025, Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome Executive Director and leader of DS-Connect, Dr. Joaquin Espinosa, spent a month in Australia presenting about the new and improved DS-Connect and strengthening global connections in Down syndrome research and advocacy.
He participated in a DSI Australia conference in Sydney with over 200 families and professionals and partnered with the Down Syndrome Association of the Northern Territory in Darwin to engage with families, government officials and Aboriginal communities.
Dr. Espinosa also visited the University of Queensland in Brisbane to explore collaborative opportunities with one of the world’s longest running Down syndrome cohort studies.
